2021 SADC Anti-sanctions day against the illegal sanctions imposed against Zimbabwe by the European Union (EU) and the United States of America (USA)
On 18 August 2019, SADC Heads of State and Government in Dar es Salam, Tanzania took a bold and historic decision to proclaim October 25 of each year, as the day of solidarity with Zimbabwe in calling for the unconditional removal of all forms of sanctions imposed against the country.
The decision by the SADC Heads of State and Government was born out of the realisation that the unjustified and oppressive illegal sanctions continue to cause untold suffering to the ordinary people of our great country. The debilitating effects of these illegal sanctions have equally been felt by our neighbouring countries.
As such, the Mission has held press conferences in October 2021 at the Zimbabwe Official Residence in Havana, Cuba, to mark the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Anti-sanctions day which continued to call for the unconditional removal of US sanctions imposed against Zimbabwe.
