Anti-Sanctions Day – 25 October 2019
On 18 August 2019, SADC Heads of State and Government in Dar es Salam, Tanzania took a bold and historic decision to proclaim October 25 of each year, as the day of solidarity with Zimbabwe in calling for the unconditional removal of all forms of sanctions imposed against the country.
The decision by the SADC Heads of State and Government was born out of the realisation that the unjustified and oppressive illegal sanctions continue to cause untold suffering to the ordinary people of our great country. The debilitating effects of these illegal sanctions have equally been felt by our neighbouring countries.
As such, the Mission has held press conferences in 2019 at Club Havana, and 2020 at the Zimbabwe Official Residence in Havana, to mark the SADC Anti sanctions day and call for the unconditional removal of US imposed sanctions on Zimbabwe.
